State of Emergency declared in Dover as potential cyber breach is investigated
DOVER, Del. – Dover Mayor Robin Christiansen has declared a State of Emergency following a potential cyber breach of its computer network.
We’re told a reliable cybersecurity entity in Kent County noticed the City of the possibility that protected or confidential information has appeared on the internet. As soon as the information was received, the City began an aggressive investigation.
Officials clarify that a data breach has yet to be confirmed, and city employees continue conducting their daily business while the situation is being addressed. Additional information will be released as soon as the facts can be established and a response plan is finalized.
The State of Emergency remains in effect until further notice.
