Somerset County Sheriff’s still looking for a blue Tesla after witnesses observed the occupants of the vehicle taking photographs of propane tanks

SOMERSET COUNTY, Md. – After a scare in the community, local officials are asking the community to alert them of suspicious activity near propane tanks. Last week, two men were seen taking pictures at the Sharp Energy Propane Facility in Princess Anne. Somerset County Sheriff Ronnie Howard was shocked to hear the reports. “An employee of Sharp Energy observed a vehicle stopped at a median strip, and the occupant exited and took some photographs of the propane tanks and railroad cars.”

The employee then notified his supervisor, explaining the blue Tesla drove off after he confronted the pair. Sheriff Howard called the behavior suspicious. Sharp Energy went on to contact State Police about the incident. “The state police put a broadcast out on the blue Tesla, and our deputies heard that broadcast and 6 minutes later stopped a blue Tesla.” Said Sheriff Howard.

Unfortunately, the Sheriff’s Office wasn’t able to stop the suspect’s car. “We assumed it was the blue Tesla that was reported by the state police. As I said, it was 6 minutes after the broadcast originally informed us, but unknown to us, an hour and a half had elapsed from that original report.”

Sheriff Howard said the Sheriff’s Office is looking for more answers. He reminds people to call the police if they see anything suspicious.

“We encourage people to report anything they see. It maybe innocent, it may not be iinnocent, but we want people to be aware and alert, and report any suspicious activity to us.”

WMDT reached out to Sharp Energy for comment, they have yet to respond.
