Seaford Community Garden in need of volunteers

SEAFORD, Del. – The Seaford Community Garden is in need of volunteers willing to get their hands dirty.

The organization works to fight food insecurity in the community, by planting and harvesting produce and feeding people for free.

But the efforts couldn’t be possible without the volunteers who help with gardening, plot upkeep and food distribution. Treasurer, Jose Santos is calling on anyone who is interested in the cause to get involved.

“We need people to come out here and help harvest, help plant, help with fences,” said Santos. “When we first started, we had a group of volunteers tear down fences, come out here, and install them and paint them.”

If you’re interested in getting involved, you can send an email to SeafordCommunityGarden@Yahoo.com.
