Police chase leads to multiple charges for Salisbury man

1280 Corey Sanders

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been arrested on charges stemming from a reckless driving incident on Thursday.

We’re told Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a gray Nissan in the area of Burnt Branch Road and Jersey Road driving at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, and crossing a double yellow line to pass other vehicles. After a short chase, the driver allegedly drove off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

After deputies arrested the driver, 20-year-old Corey Sanders, they reportedly found a loaded 9mm handgun as well as 10 wax folds of a suspected heroin/fentanyl mixture. The handgun was determined to be an un-serialized privately made Polymer 80 style semi-automatic handgun, also referred to as a “Ghost” gun.

Sanders was arrested on a list of charges, including reckless and negligent driving, speeding, and multiple handgun and drug offenses.
