MILTON, Del. – A man is behind bars tonight after a baby was allegedly found on the floor of a car, and a gun was found in a diaper bag, during a traffic stop near Milton.

WMDT News obtained court documents that state the incident happened around 12 a.m., Thursday when Delaware State Police pulled a vehicle over on Route 1 near Clifton Road.

Troopers met with the driver, later identified as 28-year-old Theaddis Johnson, who court documents state was driving on a suspended license. He also provided police with a false name, which troopers later learned was that of his twin brother, according to the arrest warrant.

After Johnson and a passenger were asked to step out of the car, the arrest warrant states troopers searched the inside where they found a baby covered in a blanket lying on the passenger-side floor board. Court documents also state that police found a loaded glock handgun hidden in a pink diaper bag.

Johnson was arrested on a slew of charges, including intentionally endangering the welfare of a child.
