Malachi Stratton advances to semi-finals in War on the Shore
OCEAN CITY, Md.- Malachi Stratton advanced with ease to the Semi Finals in the War On the Shore tournament in Ocean City on Friday.
After a Round 1 bye, he faced Lenoardtown’s 120 class wrestler winning with the score of 19-4. In the third round Stratton faced off against Harford Technical where he won by fall over at 3:15.
In the quarterfinals Stratton faced State Champion Xavier High School, where we won with another fall over at 1:44. In an interview with WMDT Sports, Malachi Stratton explained that he had more ambitions and goals than just this tournament.
“Well I have accomplished a couple of goals previously. I’m Iron Man which is a pretty good tournament where I went one and two last year. Beast, placed there. Like I said before, I’m on my way to 200 I’m at like 170 something so that’s a goal too. The ultimate goal is to have my hand raised for my fourth state title. I set out this year to, dominate, not just win but to dominate in a good fashion. I want to put myself out there a bit little more, guys who didn’t see me in previous years, make sure I’m seen this year”
Stratton will play in the semi-final of the War On the Shore Tournament on Saturday, January 4th, at 11:15 a.m.
