UPDATE: Juvenile dies from injuries sustained in Kent Co. house fire

1/14 UPDATE: Delaware State Fire Marshals say the juvenile injured in this blaze has unfortunately died from their injuries.

The victim reportedly died on Saturday at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington.

CAMDEN-WYOMING, Del. – A house fire in Camden-Wyoming Tuesday evening left a juvenile in critical condition.

We’re told the fire was reported at around 5:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Wynsome Boulevard. Firefighters responded to the scene to find heavy fire coming from the garage of the residence, which was occupied at the time of the blaze. After learning that a juvenile was unaccounted for, crews searched the residence and found the juvenile, who was immediately taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus. The juvenile was later airlifted to the Nemours Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

One adult was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries, and two other juveniles were able to escape. One firefighter was treated at the scene for injuries sustained in the fire.

Deputy State Fire Marshals say the blaze caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.
