Hornets best Hawks in MEAC showdown

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – UMES Men’s Basketball fell to Delaware State University at home Saturday evening.

The Hawks trailed 10-2 early in the 1st half but battled back to take a 38-35 lead into halftime.

UMES maintained its lead for most of the 2nd half, up by 9 points with 5 and a half minutes to play.

From that point, DSU went on a 19-3 run to close the game, winning by a final score of 73-66.

DSU’s Kaseem Watson led all scorers with 21 points. Ketron Shaw had 20 for the Hawks.
