Felton man arrested on theft charges following fraud investigation

FELTON, Del. – A Felton man was arrested following a reported theft Friday afternoon.

At around 12:30 p.m., Felton Police were called to the Felton Hardware Store in the 100 block of West Main Street for reported fraud. It was learned that a suspect had been coming into the store and purchasing thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment from March 2024 through January 2025, charging them to his former employer’s business account. The former employer reportedly began discovering numerous discrepancies in their account and subsequently contacted police.

The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Colton Faulkner, and police obtained warrants for his arrest. He turned himself in on Saturday, at which point he was charged with theft by false pretense over $1500, theft by false pretense under $1500, and attempt to commit theft by false pretense under $1500.

He was later released on a $22,001 unsecured bond pending a later court date and was issued a no-contact order with the victims.
