Emerging Leader: Isabel Barr

WMDT – It’s Monday, which means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader!

Isabel Barr is a Dorchester County student who was selected as a student page for the 2025 session of the Maryland General Assembly.

This morning, Isabel stopped by to tell Good Morning Delmarva more about this exciting opportunity and the journey she’s about to embark on.

Barr says she’s always been interested in politics, and she hopes to study political science after graduating.

We’re told she learned about the page program while preparing to apply for college scholarships.

As a student page, she will be in Annapolis for two weeks, listening in on deliberations, helping those in Congress organize paperwork, and performing other duties.

At the moment, she does not know if she will be placed in the House or the Senate.

Isabel tells us she thinks this will be a great learning opportunity as they will be discussing important topics surrounding the environment, the economy, and much more.
