Ellendale man arrested for allegedly stealing two campers
GREENWOOD, Del. – An Ellendale man has been arrested for allegedly stealing pull-behind campers.
Delaware State Police say they were called to the 10000 block of Blacksmith Shop Road on January 12th for a reported theft of two campers. It was learned that on January 10th, an unknown suspect driving an unknown black pick-up stole a 28-foot Keystone Kodiak camper from the property. It was also learned that on January 11th, an unknown suspect driving an unknown black pick-up stole a 32-foot Prowler camper from the same property.
Further investigation led detectives to identify the suspect as 39-year-old Leon Leager, and troopers found the Prowler camper, which was reportedly damaged after the theft. Detectives are continuing to search for the Keystone Kodiak camper and are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding its whereabouts.
Leager was charged with third degree burglary, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief $5000 or more, theft under $1500, criminal mischief under $1000, and third degree criminal trespass. He was later released on a $10,150 unsecured bond.
