Coastal Highway Lanes in OC close due to roof damage from high winds
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Both northbound and southbound lanes of Coastal Highway between 75th and 76th streets are closed due to roof damage caused by high winds, officials reported Tuesday.
Traffic is being diverted in both directions:
- Northbound traffic: Diverted through the alleyways between 75th and 77th streets.
- Southbound traffic: Diverted at 76th Street behind a retail establishment.
Ocean City Beach Bus service has been suspended temporarily due to the inability of buses to detour around the closure.
Crews from Delmarva Power (Delmarva Connect) and the Maryland State Highway Administration are on the scene to assess and address the damage.
The U.S. National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., issued a gale warning for Ocean City, which is in effect until approximately 1:00 a.m.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
