City of Dover experiences data loss, certain sytems impacted

DOVER, Del. – The City of Dover says it has experienced a loss of data due to unforeseen technical issues.

Officials say this does not involve any breach of security or compromise of personal information, and there is no threat to the safety of your data. The incident did impact certain City systems, and you may experience temporary disruptions, including:

  • Inability to pay your real estate tax, lodging tax, and general bill. Utility bills are not affected.
  • Delay in vendor payments
  • Delay in stormwater refunds
  • Delay in lien sheets for verification to attorneys
  • Delay in committee and financial reporting

Officials also say there had been a delay in issuing rental payments, but there may be a slight delay due to a backlog of requests.
