A professional mermaid discusses her new book “”Mermaid Tasha’s Friends: Maeve” on Good Morning Delmarva
WMDT – Tasha Haight is a professional mermaid instructor who owns Delmarva’s Premier Mermaid Entertainment Company.
She is also a children’s book author and will soon launch her ninth book on February 7th.
This morning, she’s here to tell us all about her new book “Mermaid Tasha’s Friends: Maeve“
They do mermaid performances and help those interested in becoming mermaids obtain their certification.
We’re told she was inspired to write her first book after seeing glitter used for mermaids in the water.
She says that glitter is harmful to the environment as it is made of microplastics, and she wanted to share this information with children in a fun way.
Her new book is based on another mermaid in her company!
Each book talks about different conservation issues and Maeve’s book will discuss how manta rays get entangled in fish gear.
