Vandalism leads to charges for juvenile in Ocean Pines

OCEAN PINES, Md. – Two juveniles were charged following an investigation into reported vandalism in Ocean Pines.

We’re told on November 16th, an Ocean Pines Police officer was called to the Ocean Pines Golf and Country Club for a report of vandalism in the public restrooms on the 15th hole of the course. Police say rocks and toilet paper were strewn inside the bathrooms, and the toilet tanks in both bathrooms were damaged to the point they required replacement.

On November 27th, police received an additional call for a report of juveniles in the vicinity of the same restrooms who had thrown a rock at a Golf Course employee doing maintenance on the course. The officer checked the neighborhood near the course and found two juvenile subjects matching the provided descriptions. During the investigation, the officer determined that the suspects were involved in both incidents.

A juvenile referral will be submitted for a 15-year-old male for second degree and malicious destruction of property charges. The second juvenile reportedly cannot be referred due to age limitations.
