St. James A.M.E Zion Church hosts Soup to Sanctuary event
SALISBURY, Md. – The St. James Zion Church hosted its Soup to Sanctuary event. The purpose of the event was to give back to the homeless community.
The church gave away free haircuts, clothes, and hot meals. Organizers tell WMDT, they had served over 100 people.
This was the second installment of the Soup to the Sanctuary event. Pastor David McLendon said the group was glad to serve the community.
“It has turned out to be one of the most important, one of the most precious gifts we can give back to the homeless community.”
