SALISBURY, Md. – A record-breaking $1 million was raised for Lower Shore nonprofits during this year’s Shore Gives More Giving Tuesday campaign.

We’re told more than 3,800 donations were made during the 10th annual campaign, including 145 area nonprofits and more than tripling last year’s total.

This year’s campaign was bolstered by a pledge from the Community Foundation and Richard A. Henson Foundation to match up to $250,000 for participating nonprofits.

“We often hear that every dollar can make a difference, but Giving Tuesday really shows the power of what can happen when we all come together,” says Erica Joseph, CFES President. “To see so much generosity creating such a significant impact for our local nonprofits speaks volumes about how wonderful our region is.”

The Shore Gives More was first launched in 2015 and raised $4,285 in its first year. In its 10-year history, the campaign has raised a total of $2.8 million for the Lower Shore.
