Salisbury man found guilty following child sex abuse trial

Alonzo Parker

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been found guilty of numerous child sex abuse charges.

59-year-old Alonzo Parker Jr. was arrested earlier this year following a months-long investigation by the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center. Following a three-day jury trial, Parker was found guilty on Wednesday of 13 charges, including child abuse: custodian, four counts each of third and fourth degree sex offense, and four counts of second degree assault.

The crimes were alleged to have taken place between 1997 and 2002. Parker was also reportedly affiliated with New Dimension Family Ministries in Salisbury for several years, in which he routinely had access to minor children.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
