Police investigating after juvenile injured in shooting
LAUREL, Del. – Police are investigating a shooting that left a juvenile injured Saturday night.
According to the Laurel Police Department, at 6:09pm units were dispatched to the 200 block of Hollybrooks Apartments for reports of a shooting incident.
On scene, they discovered one juvenile victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the arm. Officers applied medical aid to the victim until EMS arrived to transport the juvenile to Tidal Health for further treatment.
Investigation revealed 14-year-old Angelo Jones Jr. as the suspect in the shooting. Police determined he fled the scene and after searching they ultimately unable to locate him.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jones Jr. on the following charges:
- Assault 1st Degree (Class B Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm by Person Under 18 (Class D Felony)
- Aggravated menacing (Class E Felony)
- Reckless endangering 1st degree (Class E Felony)
Jones Jr. is considered armed and dangerous. Police urge anyone who comes in contact to not approach and immediately reach out to emergency services.
