Pair arrested following drug investigation in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – Two people have been arrested on charges stemming from a recent drug investigation in Seaford.
On Wednesday, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 9000 block of Brickyard Road following a month-long investigation into a woman suspected of distributing illegal narcotics from the residence. Before executing the warrant, detectives reportedly saw a Ford Explorer, being driven by the suspect, leaving the residence. Knowing the driver’s license was revoked, detectives stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Katie Dilworth. Inside the vehicle, detectives reportedly found an alprazolam pill in the center console.
Detectives then saw a man walking away from the residence with a child and stopped him. The man was identified as 37-year-old King Gray, who was found in possession of approximately 2.02 grams of crack cocaine and a stolen loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number.
A search of the residence led to the discovery of approximately 1.59 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 41.9 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia. Police say another child was also found in the residence at the time of the search.
Dilworth was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, second degree conspiracy, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and driving while suspended or revoked. She was released on her own recognizance.
Gray was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm within 10 years of a felony conviction, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed firearm, receiving a stolen firearm, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and other drug and firearm offenses. He was held at SCI on a $127,400 cash bond.
