One injured in Dover area shooting, suspect arrested

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars following a shooting Sunday evening that left one injured.

Shortly after 7 p.m., Dover Police responded to several reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Maple Glen Drive, arriving at the scene to find a 39-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Further investigation revealed that the victim and suspect, 31-year-old Deshaun Williams, got into an argument, during which Williams allegedly pulled out a firearm, shot the victim, and left the area.

Williams was located in the Hartly area by Delaware State Police and turned over to the Dover Police Department. He is being held at SCI on a $78,000 cash bail on first degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and first degree reckless endangerment charges.
