Nearly 40 people indicted on charges stemming from drug trafficking ring on Eastern Shore
SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Police say a total of 39 people have been indicted following an investigation into a drug trafficking ring.
We’re told Wicomico Narcotics, a collaborative effort between the Maryland Department of State Police, the Fruitland Police Department, the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, and the Drug Enforcement Administration launched the investigation in the spring. Maryland State Police worked with over two dozen local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in dismantling the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, including cocaine and fentanyl.
In August, multiple search and seizure warrants were served in Wicomico, Dorchester, and Baltimore Counties, leading to the seizure of more than 2,500 grams of suspected cocaine and nearly 30 grams of fentanyl, as well as other felony narcotics, 14 firearms, and 4 vehicles used to transport the drugs.
