Milford man arrested for drug use, stolen gun, and firearm violations
MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man was arrested on December 19, 2024, after a Milford Police Officer found him slouched over the driver’s seat of a truck at Royal Farms on S. DuPont Blvd. The officer was conducting a follow-up investigation when they checked on the man’s wellbeing, discovering he was under the influence of drugs.
During a search of his vehicle, police found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat, which was later determined to have been reported stolen in 2015. The man, identified as Edward Collins, 59, of Milford, was also found to be a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Collins faces multiple charges, including carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, and being under the influence of drugs while in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Collins was held on a $25,700 cash bail and an intoxication hold at the Department of Correction after appearing before the Justice of the Peace Court 2.
