Milford Chiropractic clinic owner pleads guilty to healthcare fraud

DELAWARE – The owner of a Milford Chiropractic Clinic has pleaded guilty to federal healthcare fraud.

Court documents show that 57-year-old Pierre Moise owned and operated the Wellness Health Center in Milford. Between at least January 2019 and March 2022, Moise, himself, and through others, allegedly paid patients who had been in recent car accidents to attend treatment sessions at the clinic, regardless of whether that treatment was needed. Employees were instructed by Moise to submit claims for reimbursement to insurance companies, who, under Delaware’s no-fault Personal Injury Protection law, were obligated to pay the clinic for the treatment. Moise and the clinic received more than $630,000 from insurance companies as a result of the fraud scheme.

Moise pleaded guilty to making a false statement related to healthcare matters. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
