Mardela defeats Indian River on day one of 2024 Governors Challenge

SALISBURY, Md. – Mardela Boys Basketball took down Indian River at the 2024 Governors Challenge on Thursday.

With the game tight after the first quarter, the Warriors took a 12 point lead into halftime, outscoring Indian River 14-4 in the 2nd quarter.

Darion Collins for Mardela lead all scorers with 21 points on 10 of 14 shooting.

Mardela outscored Indian River 36-14 in the paint, and added 22 points off of 22 Indian River turnovers.

The Warriors expanded their lead in the 4th quarter, winning by a final score of 62-42.
