Major shake-ups coming to Del State athletics
DOVER, Del. – Major changes are coming to Delaware State athletics, as the football head coach and athletic director are both out in Dover.
Lee Hull, the head coach of Delaware State for two seasons, has been let go. The Hornets earning a 2-21 overall record, and an 0-10 mark in MEAC play.
Alecia Shields-Gadson, the athletic director since 202, has also been terminated. She has worked in DSU in athletics since 2016, previously as a senior associate AD. She’ll be replaced by Tony Tucker, a long-time educator at Delaware State.
The Hornets have not won a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game since November 5, 2022. The next head coach will look to guide Delaware State football to its first winning season since 2012.
