Local organization hosting fundraiser to purchase new AED

POCOMOKE, Md. – A local organization is hosting a fun event for a good cause.

The Pocomoke City Development Corporation is hosting a cake and pie and cash bingo game, to raise money for the city’s little league baseball team, for the purchase of a new Automatic External Defibrillator.

Secretary of the Great Pocomoke Fair, Dawn Bloxom, said this is a much-needed piece of equipment on the field, so they wanted to band together to help the team purchase one.

“We decided that we would try to do something to try to raise the money so they would be able to get this AED, because every ball field definitely needs one of those,” Bloxom said.

The event will be held this Saturday at the Pocomoke City Fairgrounds. Tickets are $35 at the counter.
