Laurel outbuilding fire deemed arson, investigation underway

LAUREL, Del. – Investigators say a fire in Laurel Sunday evening was intentionally set.

The fire was reported just before 8 p.m. in the 200 block of West 7th Street. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find an outbuilding and an adjacent unoccupied building on fire.

A subsequent investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office revealed that the fire was intentionally set to the outbuilding. No injuries were reported, and total damage was estimated at $20,000.
