Juveniles apprehended after fleeing in stolen car through Worcester Co.

GIRDLETREE, Md. – Worcester County Sheriffs Deputies say three juveniles were apprehended following a chase in a stolen car Sunday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., deputies were notified of a chase involving a stolen vehicle that had crossed into Maryland from Accomack, Virginia, but did not engage in the chase. A short time later, the stolen vehicle crashed in the 5700 block of Onley Road in Girdletree, with the three occupants reportedly fleeing on foot. Police were quickly able to locate all three occupants, all of whom were juveniles, including one who had been reported missing.

All three juveniles were released to their parents, and we’re told the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office will work with the State’s Attorney’s Office regarding potential charges.

The stolen car was processed by the Chincoteague Police Department and returned to its rightful owner.
