GREENWOOD, Del. – A juvenile has been arrested in connection to a robbery in Greenwood earlier this week.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to the 14000 block of Mile Stretch Road for a reported robbery. It was learned that a 16-year-old agreed to buy a dirt bike from an acquaintance, a 16-year-old male. The victim reportedly agreed to drive to the dirt bike’s location with the suspect to complete the purchase, and when the victim drove the suspect to Mile Stretch Road, the suspect reportedly pulled out a firearm. When they got to the location to purchase the bike, police say the suspect took the victim’s money and ran away.

The victim was not hurt.

Troopers quickly found the suspect in the 6000 block of Newtown Way and took him into custody after a brief struggle. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of the stolen money and a loaded handgun that was reported stolen to Delaware State Police in March 2024.

The suspect was charged with first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18, possession of ammunition by a person under 18, first degree reckless endangering, theft of a firearm, theft under $1500, and resisting arrest. He was held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $69,000 cash bond.
