Johnny Hobgood leads Stephen Decatur football to second state championship

First Year Starter

BERLIN, Md. – Johnny Hobgood in his first year as the starter helps his team win a second straight Maryland 2A State Championship.

In the closing moments of the game Hobgood connects with Zakhari Baker to score the winning touchdown to defeat Huntingtown, 13-12. Hobgood was a big part of the comeback win.

Hobgood finishes the season throwing forty touchdowns with only three interceptions.

Stephen Decatur head coach Jake Coleman said Hobgood is a tough competitor and is very accurate.

Hobgood will be back next season with a chance to lead the Seahawks to a third straight state championship.
