Emerging Leader: Shaina Daly and Heather Hall

WMDT – It’s Monday which means it’s time to introduce you to some new emerging leaders.

Maryland Capital Enterprises recently held its annual entrepreneur of the year awards banquet honoring businesses in the area.

The Ugly Pie was awarded the entrepreneur of the year award for their success as a bakery.

This morning co-owners, Shaina Daly and Heather Hall, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to tell us more about this great honor.

We’re told that the business started 10 years ago from their homes then moved to local kitchens that allowed them to use their space.

They started with only 5 flavors, but now have 120 flavors to choose from including pot pies.

Daly says that all of the food is made from scratch and by hand.

They were blown away after learning they won such a prestigious award, and says they are grateful.

We’re told the community has really embraced them and just for thanksgiving alone, they made 900 pies!
