Dover gets revenge on Stephen Decatur in 2024 Governors Challenge

SALISBURY, Md. – Dover boys basketball topped Stephen Decatur Friday in a rematch of 2023’s buzzer-beating thriller.

The game was hard-fought throughout, with Decatur leading by 2 after the 1st quarter. Dover responded in the 2nd quarter to take a 29-27 lead into halftime.

Leading by 3 points heading into the 4th quarter, Dover expanded their lead to 9 with just minutes to play. They withstood the Seahawks’ comeback attempt to win by a final score of 59-54.

Dover’s JayVion Denis lead all scorers with 25 points on 8 of 18 shooting, grabbing 8 rebounds.

Davin Chandler lead Decatur with 24 points. Noah Tucker added 16 points, shooting 4 for 4 from beyond the arc.
