DHCD holding ‘Energy Day’ event for low-income Cambridge families
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Maryland’s Department of Housing and Community Development will be in Cambridge this weekend hosting an Energy Day at the Community Engagement Center.
The event is geared towards low income families and those who might need assistance with major home repairs or utility bills.
Officials hope to connect residents with free programs that can help lower the cost of heating and cooling by updating insulation and evaluating overall energy use in the home.
“We want to educate the local residents about the free programs available to retrofit their homes…find all of these pockets happening both in your attic and in your basement and around your home and find out where can we close it out, what upgrades can we do to the home to help you save that energy bill?” said Linette Harley, Business Development Manager for the Energy Division with DHCD.
Energy Day is this Saturday, running from 10am to 1pm.
