Delaware Representatives ready for 2025 legislative session

DELAWARE. – District Reps are getting ready to put their plans into motion as we head into the legislative session in January. Minority House Leader and District 40 Representative Tim Dukes is prepared for Governor-Elect Matt Meyer to announce his cabinet.

“He’s rolling out some of the names that will be appointed, and he will have to be approved by the Senate. Once those guys and gals are nominated and confirmed by the Senate, that’s when you find out about the governor’s legislative priorities.”

District 36th Representative Bryan Shupe tells WMDT he already has plans that he will bring to the table.

“What I heard this past year, is fighting against overdevelopment, reducing crime rates, and fixing the state’s overspending problems.”

Representative of the 34th District Lyndon Yearick feels strongly about poverty in his area.

“I’m committed to addressing the poverty issue here in the 34th district. We look to expand it with some legislative changes regarding enhancing the earned income tax credit.”

Dukes said he’s working closely with Yearick and Shupe and with Democrats across the aisle.

“Ultimately, it’s not about Democrat or Republican, it’s about providing the services, answering the phone, answering the emails, and taking care of the people.”

The 2025 Delaware legislative session will begin on January 14th and adjourn on June 30th, 2025.
