Crisfield Church of God prepares to hold 2nd annual ‘Coats for Kids’ event
CRISFIELD, Md. – an organization in Crisfield is trying to help families struggling keep their kids warm this winter.
For the second year in a row, the Crisfield Church of God is holding a Coats For Kids giveaway after their Sunday morning Christmas Service.
Last year the Church supplied 75 coats to children in the community, and they’re hoping to do the same this year. Brand new coats are purchased with donations from the congregation – in an effort to help bring the community together.
“Just trying to open it up, we’re a Community Church, and we want to we want to be a part of the community, not just a church in the community. So I think this is a great way to do it,” said Senior Pastor Mike Vaughan.
Vaughan added that if they don’t have enough for everyone, they will get contact information so they can follow-up and get coats to all the children that need them.
Kids will also be able to visit with Santa and get presents after the service, which starts at 10:30 am on Sunday, December 22nd.
