Worcester County Park receives new funding to replenish beachfront

OCEAN CITY, Md. – A local Worcester County Park is set to receive new funding for Homer Gudelsky Park.

It will receive $50,000 dollars in grant money from Program Open Space, a department in the state of Natural Resources. The funding will be used for beach replenishment and maintenance. The work will hopefully improve public access and make the use of the beach more manageable.

Worcester County, Director of Recreation and Parks, Kelly Rados hopes this will be useful for the long-term health of the park.

“It’ll ensure that the beach will be able to stay there, so we will backfill with additional sand if necessary, so the main part is protecting that shoreline so we can continue to have this open to the public for them to enjoy.”

The Park is widely considered one of the best spots to fish in the area if you want to catch bigger rockfish or black sea bass.
