U.S. Senator Tom Carper is excited for Congresswoman Lisa-Blunt Rochester to take over his seat

 

DELAWARE. Senator-elect Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware prepares to take over Senator Tom Carper’s current seat. Blunt Rochester defeated Republican Eric Hansen and Independent Dr. Michael Katz.

She collected 56% of the votes, Blunt Rochester will be the first woman and person of color to represent Delaware in the Senate.

Carper tells WMDT that he is very excited to see what the future holds for Rochester. “We need someone good at mending fences getting Democrats and Republicans to work together, she’s very good at being a bipartisan congresswoman, and I think she’ll continue to do that. I like to say bipartisan solutions are lasting solutions, Lisa is good at bipartisan solutions and we’re going to need that big time in years to come.”

Senator Carper’s last day in office is on January 3rd, 2025.
