SU Women’s Basketball tops St. Mary’s College of Maryland at home

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Women’s Basketball took on St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Maggs Gymnasium Wednesday night.

The Seagulls took an early lead and were up by 9 points at the end of the first quarter. They held onto the lead for the whole game.

A key sequence at the end of the 3rd quarter saw the Seagulls’ lead cut to 4 when Alex Bull drained the team’s only 3-pointer of the night, then, following a Seahawk timeout, she stole the ball and scored to extend the lead back to 9 points heading into the 4th quarter.

Final score: Salisbury 66, St. Mary’s 57

Kayla Nieberlein led the team in scoring with 19 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Abby Plaugher added 14, shooting 6 for 10.

SU Women’s Basketball improves to 2-3 with the win. They will play at Penn State Abington on Sunday November 24th.
