Senator Russ Huxtable remains focused on housing after election night

Senator Huxtable

DELAWARE – In Delaware’s Senate District 6, Senator Russ Huxtable held a strong lead late Tuesday night.

Challenger Kim Hoey Stevenson hoped to unseat him, but with almost all precincts reporting he helds over 54 percent of the vote.

Senator Huxtable said his focus remains largely unchanged.

“We still have an affordable housing crisis in Delaware. We have a vital workforce that needs housing here on the eastern side of Sussex county. We need to balance that with the growth that’s happening in the area and how do we do it in a responsible way,” he said.

This will be Huxtable’s 2nd term. He first took office in 2022.
