DEWEY BEACH, Del. – A 60-year-old Seaford woman was arrested Monday evening following a disorderly conduct and threatening incident at a hotel on Coastal Highway.

Around 9:12 p.m., Dewey Beach police responded to a 911 hang-up call from the hotel located at 1400 Coastal Highway. Upon arrival, officers encountered Crystal Long, who was in a vehicle parked at the scene. Long, the sole occupant of the vehicle, displayed aggressive and irate behavior, yelling at officers and refusing to cooperate.

Hotel staff told authorities that Long had become increasingly upset over a previous disagreement with a daytime manager. Witnesses said she verbally confronted an employee and threw an object at them. The employee, feeling threatened, called 911.

Officers observed signs of intoxication, including the presence of alcohol in Long’s vehicle. Despite efforts to de-escalate the situation, she continued to resist, prompting officers to remove her from the vehicle for safety reasons. Long was then taken into custody and transported to the Dewey Beach Police Department.

Long was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #7 and released on her own recognizance.
