Maryland State Parks holds first ever ‘Fungi Festival’
SNOW HILL, Md. – Saturday at Pocomoke River State Park, Maryland State Parks put held its first ever Fungi Festival.
It had family fun like hayrides, games and live music, as well as interactive and educational presentations.
Local artists and crafters featured work revolving around the fungi. Some felt that taking the time to appreciate and learn about small things like the easily overlooked world of mushrooms can change the way you look at your surroundings.
“Mushrooms are so cool because they come in all different shapes and sizes just like people…Anybody can go and look at a mountain or a waterfall and be like ‘Oh,pretty!’, But if you take the time to stop and look at the beauty and the small things that we all overlook on a daily basis, you’d be amazed at how much beauty is truly around us,” said photographer Dana Montoya.
