Man sentenced for attempted kidnapping, assault of SU student

1280 Sneade Jr

SALISBURY, Md. – A Crisfield man has been convicted and sentenced on charges stemming from an attempted kidnapping and assault on a Salisbury University student.

On February 11th, 31-year-old Kendall Sneade Jr., who was not a Salisbury University student, followed a student for approximately six minutes as she walked toward her vehicle in a parking lot. When the victim approached her vehicle, Snead reportedly ran after and grabbed her outside of her vehicle. The victim tried to escape Sneade by getting in her car, but Sneade also got into the car and tried to cover the victim’s mouth. The victim was able to fight off Sneade by kicking, punching, and screaming, causing Sneade to get out of the vehicle. The victim was then able to leave the area and find a safe place, where she contacted police.

Sneade was convicted on Thursday of false imprisonment and second degree assault. He was immediately sentenced to 20 years behind bars, with five years of supervised probation on release, including special conditions such as GPS monitoring.
