Lewes daycare employee arrested for Child Abuse

LEWES, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested 22-year-old Kaitlyn Kachnovitz of Lewes for child abuse following an investigation at a local daycare.

On November 15, 2024, troopers responded to a report of physical abuse of a child by a staff member at Beach Babies Daycare, located at 31169 Learning Center Lane in Lewes. Investigators determined that on that date, Kachnovitz forcefully grabbed a 2-year-old child, causing a minor injury. She was immediately terminated from her position at the daycare.

Kachnovitz turned herself in to authorities on November 25, 2024, at Troop 4. She was charged with child abuse, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on her own recognizance.
