Late night house fire in Willards ruled accidental

WILLARDS, Md. – A house fire in Willards Tuesday night has been ruled accidental.

Firefighters were called to 7262 Truitt Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Crews battled the blaze for approximately 45 minutes before bringing it under control.

Fire marshals determined the fire started on an outside covered porch and was the result of improperly disposed smoking materials. Total damage has been estimated at $85,000.
