KindSBY teams up with Community Foundation for Giving Tuesday

SALISBURY, Md. – KindSBY is teaming up with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore on Giving Tuesday. It’s all apart of the Shore Gives More online giving campaign.

KindSBY is a community initiative aimed to create, recognize and inspire kindness in the community. The group has more than 20 kindness ambassadors that help lead projects throughout the year. They do things like support new teachers in the community and work with meals on wheels and Dove Pointe residents.

Heather Brooks is the Executive Director of KindSBY and Secretary of Kindness for the City of Salisbury. She says it’s not hard to spread kindness, and it can be fun.

“The impact of kindness, not only on the person that’s doing, giving of themselves, but that receiver . . . and that ultimate ripple that takes place after they’ve received the act of kindness . . . it’s like a lightbulb goes off and instantly they’re motivated to continue the ripple of kindness,” explains Brooks.

Kind SBY organizers say they hope funds raised through Shore Gives More will not only help keep them going next year, but also allow more funding for kindness clubs in schools.

“Our hope is that by staying in front of people and reminding them that kindness is something that everyone can do every single day, that our community will be a more positive, uplifting, joyful and pleasant place to be,” says Brooks.
