Harris Teeter employee charged with theft of prescription pills

SELBYVILLE, Del. – A Georgetown woman was arrested last week after she allegedly stole prescription medication from Harris Teeter.

During the afternoon hours of November 12th, troopers were called to the store for a reported theft. It was learned that Harris Teeter Asset Protection had conducted an internal investigation that revealed that an employee, identified as 59-year-old Deanna Chambers, had stolen several hundred tramadol pills between July and November 2024.

Chambers was arrested on November 15th and charged with acquire or attempt to acquire or obtain possession of a controlled substance by theft and theft under $1500. She was later released on a $4,000 unsecured bond.
