Gov.-Elect Matt Meyer rolls out state committees

DELAWARE. – Delaware’s Governor-Elect, Matt Meyer, rolled out his committees, which will be focusing on issues like education, housing innovation and public safety.
President of Delaware State University, Dr. Tony Allen, was picked to co-chair the Education and Livelihood sector. He said they’re ready to hit the ground running and expand access to education in the state.
“We believe this committee will get right to that in the priorities that were outlined in Governor Meyer’s campaign,” Dr. Allen said.
Myer’s administration has its sights on collaborating with communities to reduce gun violence, an initiative that Lieutenant Governor-Elect, Kyle Evans Gay, said would contribute to an overall better quality of life in the First State.
“Together, we are really interested and excited to take a look at what safety and harm reduction look like for the state of Delaware,” Evans Gay said. “With the policy mandates, focusing on school safety, reducing gun violence, and in particular, looking at our substance use disorder concerns in the state.”
