Good Morning Delmarva discusses the potential closing of the Shepherd’s Place

WMDT – The Shepherd Place, a shelter in the Dover area is set to close soon.

This morning, Tasha Scott, the executive director, is here to tell us why this organization is so important to the community.

We’re told the shelter was opened in 1990 to provide support for full families and single women.

It’s been a pillar for the Kent County community as there aren’t many shelters in the state of Delaware.

Scott says that it’s a devastating situation as it will be winter soon and their residents will have nowhere else to go.

They are trying to raise awareness by hosting a community event on Saturday, November 16th at 10 a.m.

You can check out their location and learn more information about the resources they provide.

Also, you can donate at the event or online by visiting: www.shepherdplace.org
