Good Morning Delmarva discusses the Milford Museum’s program on the Lenape Indian Tribe

WMDT – November is Native American Heritage Month and the Milford Museum is celebrating with a presentation of the Lenape Indian Tribe.

The tribe is known as the “First People of the First State” and the program will focus on their rich history.

This morning, Tom Summers and Dennis Coker, the face of Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware, stopped by to tell us more about the event.

Coker says they look forward to getting to celebrate this culture that is thriving in our community as it’s rare for it to be highlighted on a national or state level.

He tells us it’s important that their people see themselves in the spotlight and being honored.

The event is being held Saturday, November 9th at the Milford Public Library starting at 1 p.m.
